Leading Hospitality Innovation: New joint master programme by HMSM

Hotel Management School Maastricht (HMSM), the Netherlands, invites students of THE-ICE member institutions to apply for the joint master programme Leading Hospitality Innovation. A unique Master of Science (MSc) that allows students to study in three European cities. The master programme will kick-off in September 2024.

Are you ready to shape the future?

As the world around us changes, we must adapt and navigate through these changes. For hospitality, this requires a new style of leader – creative and innovative leaders who think of hospitality, not as a particular industry, but as a concept that operates across all sectors and businesses. Leaders who know how to maintain the human experience in hospitality in an increasingly digital world, as it is this human experience that lies at the heart of what is memorable, but it is also what builds quality employer brands and helps businesses grow.

This master programme will fill you with the knowledge, skills and tools to become one of the most influential and innovative leaders in hospitality. It will prepare you to lead high impact projects where innovation and digital transformation are key elements to create innovative effects within organisations.

The programme lasts 18 months and is taught at three universities in three different cities in Europe:

  • Hotel Management School Maastricht, Netherlands
  • IQS Ramon Llull University, Barcelona, Spain
  • Technological University Dublin, Ireland

6 Modules, 1 Consultancy Project, 3 Cities

In Maastricht, you will focus on leadership and consumer behaviour. In Dublin, you will focus on transformational hospitality and hospitality futures, and Barcelona will complete the programme with a focus on digital transformation and experience design and implementation. All modules apply Design Thinking in the assignments and contribute to the knowledge base you require to deliver an innovative and sustainable Hospitality Innovation Consultancy Project.

Completing this master’s degree will fast-track your leadership career. You can end up in management positions in hotels, airlines, event companies, hospitals and other service institutions in which hospitality is a unique selling point. Career opportunities include: Process and Innovation Manager, Business Development Manager, Head of Global Marketing, Sustainability Project Manager, Chief Strategic Officer and Safety, Health and Environment Manager.
