THE-ICE partners with Mary’s Meals to feed students of Fefeh Town Public School

THE-ICE is delighted to announce a new corporate social responsibility partnership with Mary’s Meals, through which THE-ICE will fund a daily meal for the 239 students enrolled at Fefeh Town Public School in Liberia.

Mary’s Meals provides a simple solution to world hunger by providing a nutritious daily meal in a place of education. The average cost of feeding a child for a whole school year is just AU$29.00, and Mary’s Meals feeds 1,667,067 school children every day, in 18 different countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Schools that receive Mary’s Meals support report a significant rise in rates of enrolment, attendance and academic performance.

Through THE-ICE’s dedicated fundraising page, individuals and institutions can support THE-ICE’s fundraising by making a secure donation to help provide Mary’s Meals to the students of Fefeh Town Public School. Click here to view THE-ICE fundraising page.

“I have been fortunate to see firsthand how providing a simple meal at school can change lives, not only for the child themselves, but for their family and entire community,” said Dr Craig Thompson, CEO of THE-ICE. “It never ceases to amaze me that for less than the price of half a dozen cups of coffee you can provide a child with food and effectively education for whole year…and thus the chance of a brighter future.”

About Mary’s Meals

Founded in Scotland in 2002, and united by a shared vision of providing a daily meal in a place of education to every child who needs it, Mary’s Meals is a global movement which sets up school feeding programmes in communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education.  Mary’s Meals helps to transform the lives of hundreds of thousands of impoverished children around the world and has served its billionth meal in Noida, India, in 2017.

Mary’s Meals are determined to keep their promise of a nutritious daily meal in school to those children already enrolled in their school feeding programme and – as funds allow – reach out to the next hungry child. Mary’s Meals is also committed to keeping running costs low, with at least 93% of donations being spent on their charitable activities.
