Established in 1983 as a private college, KDU University College (KDU) is one of the pioneers in private higher education and the first private college to operate a purpose-built campus in Petaling Jaya. Widely recognised as a premier centre for tertiary education, KDU is renowned for its quality teaching faculty and high quality twinning programmes with prestigious universities and reputable institutions in the United Kingdom, United States of America, Australia and Switzerland. Upgraded as a university college in 2010, KDU increased its product offering to include eight new proprietary programmes with the flexibility of 23 specialisations. With more than 50,000 alumni, KDU has built a strong presence in the region and continues to inspire its students to greater heights. In January 2015 KDU moved to the new flagship RM320 million campus in Utropolis, Glenmarie, which is equipped with all the modern facilities necessary to meet the educational needs of generations to come.

The School of Hospitality, Tourism & Culinary Arts was founded in 1987 and is the only institution in Malaysia which offers its students the choice of the full Swiss experience through its partner IMI University Centre in Lucerne, Switzerland, the French-link to IDRAC in France or the Italian connection to ALMA in Parma, Italy. The School offers various hospitality and culinary programmes from diploma up to masters’ level, delivered by award-winning academics/ lecturers, who are both dedicated and experienced in the relevant education & industry sectors, producing graduates who are employed as highly regarded specialists in world renowned hotels and service related industries all over the world.

With the new campus in Utropolis Glenmarie, the school now boasts the largest culinary and hospitality teaching facilities in kdu-horizontal-280hMalaysia covering some 65,000 square feet and also providing ample space for niche studies in molecular gastronomy, wine, charcuterie, chocolate and coffee. Facilities also include a fully equipped ice carving lab, another first in the country. Teaching lecture theatres with in built kitchenettes and recording facilities also enable students to review classes anytime, anywhere and provide them the platform to train for television, where everything is “live”. Industry-exact front desks, housekeeping labs, and student-run restaurants complete the industry-relevant learning environment.
