William Angliss Institute
Since its establishment in 1940, William Angliss Institute has been dedicated to training and education opportunities for the hospitality and foods industries. More recently the Institute has included tourism courses within its portfolio of education and training programs, which now spans degree and graduate education programs, apprenticeships and traineeships, diplomas and advanced diplomas and other certificate-level programs.
As the Victorian State Government endorsed Specialist Centre for Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts, William Angliss Institute has strong links with the hospitality, tourism and foods industries. These linkages provide a world of opportunities for the Institute's students including internships, networks, site visits, professional work experience and graduate employment opportunities. The Institute and its staff hold accreditations, endorsements, listing and membership with a wide range of Australian and international industry and educational organisations including the Australian Tourism Research Institute; the Australian Culinary Federatio (ACF) (Victorian Chapter); Meetings and Events Australia; Hotel, Motel and Accommodation Association; Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC) and Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) which provides students with access to industry expertise and provides the Institute with valuable feedback for the development of its training programs.
Specialist Centre for Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts
William Angliss Institute's portfolio of skill and career development programs includes generalist and specialist programs with options for delivery in the workplace, on-campus and online. Educational and industry expertise includes:

Learning at William Angliss Institute is supported by experienced teachers and dedicated specialist facilit ies such as eight training kitchens, three training restaurants, four training bakeries, a food demonstration centre, three food technology laboratories, two dedicated coffee training areas, a confectionery training centre, a meat processing room, a research and development kitchen, automated reservation training room system, accommodation training suites, a wine sensory evaluation centre and a Learning Resource Centre.
Academic Excellence
William Angliss Institute has been recognised for the quality of its programs and expertise in education and training with industry awards and accolades including the Victorian Tourism Awards, the Victorian Training Awards and the Australian Quality Awards for Business Excellence.
William Angliss Institute consistently achieves high graduate employment rates. In 2008, 91.9% of William Angliss Institute graduates, or went on the further study within six months of completing their course (National Centre for Vocational Education Research - Student Outcomes Survey 2008). This success rate is approximately 7% greater than the State and national average for all vocational, education and training providers.
Industry Linkages and Work Experience 
William Angliss Institute is committed to providing its students with career opportunities through relevant training, industry involvement and practical experience. Each year, students and staff are involved in key events that lay the foundation of Melbourne's cultural calendar including the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, the Grand Prix and the 2006 Commonwealth Games. The Institute also works closely with its industry partners to develop workforce capability through traineeship and apprenticeship programs, customised short courses and workshops.
The Angliss Careers and Employment service is dedicated to providing work opportunities for students, providing a vital link with industry through initiatives including employment advertising, careers expos, careers fact sheets and work shops, individual careers consultations, information on working at large events such as the Grand Prix, Melbourne Food and Wine Festival and the Spring Racing Carnival and overseas. Similarly, the Angliss Global Network provides valuable linkages between industry, students and alumni through events, regular newsletters and opportunities for professional development, mentoring and networking.

William Angliss Institute's portfolio of education and training programs spans a diverse range of hospitality, tourism and foods-related disciplines including hospitality management, tourism management, business management (with a focus on tourism and hospitality), international retail travel sales, meetings and event management, ecotourism, resort management, commercial cookery, patisserie, food science and technology and confectionery manufacturing. These programs range from Certificate level through to Advanced Diploma which will be listed on this website soon.
